SG4: Thank you.

Having just returned from the Wolf SG-4 Convention in London, I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Michael Shanks. He was brilliant both onstage and off - funny, entertaining, completely willing to answer questions, sign autographs and be blinded by camera flashes, all with a smile on his face.

The convention had an extra layer of emotion running through it, for obvious reasons. Added to that, Michael was also ill and pretty much exhausted from jetting around Great Britain (and popping over to Frankfurt) during the week before the con. Still, he kept going, kept that smile (or quite intense look)! Thank you Michael for putting yourself through that this weekend. Hopefully we managed to show you how much we appreciated it too.

I also want to say thank you to Amanda Tapping (who was also ill), Lexa Doig and surprise guest Tom McBeath, who were all totally amazing too.

Finally, a thank you to my best friend Mel, and her husband Chris, who put together a music video as a tribute to Michael Shanks and his character Daniel Jackson. It included many scenes from Meridian as well as some scenes from throughout the whole Stargate series, and the song they used was Kate Winslet's "What if…". The tribute at the end said:

Daniel - we'll miss you.
Michael - thank you for five great years.

It is one of the most moving things I've ever seen. Thank you Mel and Chris for expressing what every Michael Shanks fan would want to say, and in such a beautiful and effective way.
